Janitorial Maintenance Worker

Position Summary:  Provide essential janitorial/cleaning services for school setting with six classrooms, kitchen, and 6 office spaces.  

Requirements: 

• A minimum of 1 year of previous janitorial experience in an office building setting 

Responsibilities:  

• Clean and disinfect all restrooms (includes: floors/sinks/toilets/mirrors/walls) 

• Replenish paper supplies in restrooms and other areas as necessary 

• Clean and disinfect all classrooms, offices and shared spaces, including surfaces, daily, using EPA-approved cleaning products safe for use around children 

• Vacuum carpets daily 

• Dust areas according to preventive maintenance schedule 

• Sweep and Mop hallways daily or more often as needed 

• Maintain kitchen cleanliness daily, in collaborating with the cook 

• Collect all trash and recycling from inside and outside the building and place curbside during appropriate pick-up times 

• Provide list of required cleaning supplies to Operations Department for monthly ordering 

Necessary Skills: 

• Ability to read and write instructions in English 

• Ability to follow verbal instructions 

• Most possess the motor skills to operate a vacuum. use a mop. lift and empty a mop bucket 

• Comfortable in an environment where interactions with people of differing abilities is a daily occurrence
