PROS (Personalized Recovery Oriented Services) is a program focused on recovery for individuals with mental health conditions. PROS helps individuals learn the skills needed to achieve their life goals. This program offers intensive rehabilitation services to assist individuals in obtaining specific life roles, and to reduce the risk of relapse, hospitalization, loss of housing, or involvement with the criminal justice system.

Job Description: 

We currently have a need for an Employee Specialist in our PROS- Poughkeepsie Program. Ability to work as an effective team player and achieve employment outcomes is essential along with excellent interpersonal, engagement and organizational skills. Bilingual– English and Spanish speaking is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct job development and job search activities
  • Assist in employability skill development and interview and resume preparedness
  • Provide individualized follow-along supports that are targeted to helping clients in maintaining employment.
  • Provide benefits counseling with assistance of benefits counselor
  • Negotiate job accommodations when needed
  • Work collaboratively with team members to achieve employment outcomes

Qualifications: 

  • Associate degree in mental health, social services or business
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to build relationships with clients and provide support
  • Knowledge of job search processes
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with individuals with mental illness a plus
  • Valid driver's license
